Privacy policy
Our team includes students in grades 4–8, so we collect as little as we can and never sell or share it. Last updated November 6, 2026.
The public website
You can read every public page without an account. We don't run ads, analytics, or tracking scripts. The site remembers your light or dark mode choice in your own browser.
Videos on the Watch page load from YouTube only after you press play. Event maps on the calendar load from OpenStreetMap, and "Directions" opens Google Maps. Fonts load from Google Fonts.
Member accounts (forum and admin)
Members sign in with Google. We receive only your name and email address from Google, and we never see or store a password. One sign-in cookie keeps you signed in, and it expires after a few hours to a week, depending on your role.
We store the forum posts you write and a log of changes coaches and admins make. Only signed-in members can see the forum.
Students
- Students can ask for an account, giving only their first name, last initial, grade, and a parent's email. Nothing is visible until a coach approves the account and the parent gives permission, using a private link emailed to them (no parent account is required).
- A student account works only after a parent or guardian gives permission on the site. We record the parent's typed name, the date, and the IP address as proof of consent.
- Students are shown by first name and last initial only. Profiles are a robot avatar, a color, and a short bio. No one can upload photos, and there are no private messages. A coach approves students' bios first, and anyone can report an avatar or bio.
- A coach reviews every student post before other members can see it.
- A parent can take back permission at any time from the forum page. The student is signed out right away.
- To see or delete your student's information, email us. We'll remove it.
Donors
When you give, a coach records the amount, date, and your name in our ledger. The public "Where the money goes" page lists gifts as "Anonymous donor" unless you ask us to use your name. Forms you send us are kept by the team and are never shared.
Who can see what
Only team coaches and admins can see member emails, donor names, and receipts. We use a few service providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Google (sign-in), and Cloudflare (domain and email forwarding). They store data only to provide those services.
